Mike Stanley
Pastor Mike has been a minister of the gospel for over 40 years. He has served God in many capacities over the years: in business, serving at Prison Fellowship Ministries, Director of Education at Christian Catholic Church, associate pastor with Church of the Nazarene, evangelist with McKinley Family Ministries, bible teacher at Amhurst Regional Jail, chaplain at LewisGale Hospital, and currently chaplain at Roanoke Rescue Mission and a Peer Recovery Specialist with the Way Forward Program at the Rescue Mission (a residential substance recovery program).
Pastor Mike ministered at a number of Brethren Churches as a traveling supply pastor with Church of the Brethren. He is currently licensed as a Minister with the Virlina District of the Church of the Brethren, serving as Pastor here at the Boones Mill Church. Pastor Mike earned his undergraduate degree at Trinity College and a seminary graduate education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, both in Illinois (specializing in Christian Thought and Systematic Theology), and a post graduate diploma with Fielding Graduate Institute in Organizational Development.
Pastor Mike also served with honor in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Sargeant during his active military time. Pastor Mike has two sons and six grandchildren.
